One life can make a difference

she said yes -Don’t look for human love for comfort, but seek God’s love instead

Posted on: August 29, 2010

i read this one long time ago, been few year i think. whenever i read books like this, i will copy and paste the quote that moved me and saved it in Microsoft word document. now i decided to share with you all.

this book is written by the mother of the girl that die in the rampant shooting at columbine high school. witness said that she had been shot because when the attacker ask her . ” do you believe in JESUS“. and she said yes. she have become the unlikely martyr.

mind you, she is not someone who grew up in Christian family and always be goody two-shoes. its an battle for her to find way to JESUS too . just like any normal human being .

“ P.S. Honestly, I want to live completely for God. It’s hard and scary, but totally worth it.”
From a note written by Cassie the night before she was killed
and handed to her friend Amanda the next morning at school.

her mother went through her journal and everything in order to understand her more. so, there is few quote from from her marked book that i like
In her copy of Bread for the Journey, a collection of meditations by
Henri Nouwen, several of the passages Cassie marked refer to relationships with family members and friends. The first is from a piece entitled “Be Yourself.”

Often we want to be somewhere other than where we are, or even to be someone other than who we are. We tend to compare ourselves constantly with others and wonder why we are not as rich, as intelligent, as simple, as generous, or as saintly as they are. Such comparisons make us feel guilty, ashamed, or jealous…We are unique human beings, each with a call to realize in life what nobody else can, and to realize it in the concrete context of the here and now. We will never find happiness by trying to figure out whether we are better or worse than others. We are good enough to do what we are called to do. Be yourself!

on another page she underlined this

Without the love of our parents, sisters, brothers, spouses, lovers, and friends, we cannot live. Without love we die. Still, for many people this love comes in a very broken and limited way. It can be tainted by power plays, jealousy, resentment, vindictiveness, and even abuse. No human love is the perfect love our hearts desire, and sometimes human love is so imperfect that we can hardly recognize it as love.

you can get this ebook for free from http://www.plough.com/ebooks/index.html

i almost finish reading all the books there. there is few books that make me cry including this one. a good book

p/s: lame attempt in trying to make u read it. 😛

Human will abandon you without fail when it needs be, but only God will guide you unfailingly.

in some case, not also human abandon you, but its human limitation to be there for you maybe through dying etc. yeah. sometimes its the faith make us going.

I have come to learn that… nothing else could help me thru in life if I don’t have faith in Him. People come and go… love waxed and wane… but not God. He will be there… as long as I let Him be in my heart. God is with me, and I can never loose that, as long as I allow Him there with me. Sounds strange, rite? But that is how I feel.

Love the Lord, thy God…and love thy neighbours as you love yourself. What goes around, comes around…

cleffairy : its doesnt sound strange. HE is with me through difficult time too :)and HE is the only one i can hold on. hehe. coz i can tell HIM everything .
cikgu: sound like justin timberlake song eh ? xD
